Clifton Springs

Post by bowl » Mon Sep 24, 2018 7:03 am

So after going to a funeral Friday at Tongala and then having to leave family Saturday morning in Tongala to go work flatout Saturday Sunday...
I decide to go for late arvo stress relief fish.

Arrived at Clifton Springs 17.30... not many boats at ramp.
No time to bait collect so I headed straight to bend at Clifton springs , ... was couple of boats at the Bend n I sounded some ok marks...

Caught my first pinkies on a storm micro jig ...and had to ok runs and caught standard flathead...

Lots of bites on garfish.....

Nice work bowl. Do you drift when using the jigs or do you throw them around while on anchor?

Cheers, Anth

I like your strategy with two rods in the holder while you flick an SP. I am only just starting out on the SP's so I will employ the same tactic to develop my skills in this area. Is there still the black/red marker positioned at the entrance to the Clifton springs marina? I went there 2 weeks ago and saw it there and thought it was indicating that the marina was closed

Thought black marker was indicating shallow spot !??
If the bait fishing is slow, I will flick a plastic or squid jig or sabiki rig to try n catch Silver whiting or salmon...

Thanks for the tip on the marker, I thought that was the case and given that there was no other trailers in the car park, I thought that it might have been reeeeeeealy shallow :-)
