New Adventures Clifton Springs

Post by jedgpz » Wed Mar 20, 2019 4:56 pm

I have recently purchased a boat with the view of fishing Corio Bay as I have kids living in Geelong area.
I live about 3 hours drive north of Geelong and I really have only fished fresh water (Chasing Cod) you may have read some of my other reports chasing natives. Anyway back to the new salt adventure.
Fished Clifton Springs Yesterday 19/03/19.
Caught 1,000,000 little pinkies, a few under size whiting, 3 whiting in the 40cms, 4 Flathead, 5 banjo sharks and 1 garfish. Nice mixed bag of fish :water:
Fished 6 mts (flathead Garfish and banjos)
Fished 2.5 - 4 mts for the whiting and pinkies
Baits where pippies, pilchards and servo squid. I did try and catch some squid but did not get any. Drifted the weed areas tried all the jigs I have but no squid.
I thought I did alright as I don't have a clue what I was doing other than what I have read and been told.
So next report will be filled with more fish :)
