portarlington 1st april

Got to portarlington yesterday about 4 in the arvo, I was on nightshift friday. I had a mate and his misses staying for the weekend the girls went shopping / sight seeing so we went fishing after a big night it was a slow start this morning. We launched around 8-30 headed to my favorite squid spot it was a bit slow so we moved out a bit deeper then found some
.
At one stage I could see 4 squid following my lure I held mine in the water why my mate caught the other three they were not massive but good bait size.
I caught 1 arrow head squid which is a bit unusual for here. After a while they went quiet so we went went drifting for a few flathead the girls had put an order in, we must have caught a hundred but we we only kept a few the ones over 30cm.
Hitting the water again tomorrow will probably head over to wilsons spit for a change.
