Tuesday 23rd October
Ok so the decision was made to line up again at 5:00 am and hit St.Leanards near the red stick to get a lovely feed of plate sized pinky, then we would move to the green stick for some squid, and finally to move and bag out on whiting. Checked everything fuel, rods, bait hearing aid in Denis’s ear so he can hear me this time and we launch. What a brilliant plan we had off to the red stick and wait about 2 hours, what a lovely sunrise it was, not a sniff of a bite. Still we have squid and whiting to catch, off to the green stick and wait and wait and wait. The wind changed and the seas chopped up, another couple of hours disappear and nothing. We stick to our plan and off after the whiting we go, we set up, Denis lays out a lovely berry trail and we wait. The bang bang bang, Denis has bagged out for both of us in about an hour, I could not believe the man’s skilled he was dragging in fish like there was no tomorrow. Reaching our combined limit did not stop him he was possessed he was dragging in toads like hell, the man is a machine lol. We did however start catching whiting as well but Denis was really Toad of Toad hall, king of the Toads is he. We ended up with 19 whiting all about 40cm between us. It had chopped up even more, the only disappointment was that Denis did not warn me or I would have brought some soap powder and the washing as it would have been cleaned better than any washing machine could get it. We worked hard for almost 8 hours to get those fish but that just made them taste sweeter. Thanks again for your hospitality and knowledge Denis one of natures true gentleman
