Nice night

I thought tonight was the night I have been itching to give floundering a go I got to the point Richards road boat ramp put my waders on and hit the water to the right of the boat ramp.
All I found was rocks I should have brought the boat and gone out to the sand bank there not to be discouraged I went to the left of the boat ramp. I walked around for a couple of hours lots of tiny fish coming in and out of the light, I was having a bit of difficulty seeing. The water was crystal clear but a bit choppy. I decided to give it away I want to fish out of queenscliff tomorrow, as I was nearly back at the boat ramp I speared a flathead as I was lifting it out off the water it wriggled and popped off damm.
I will give it another try with less wind.

Try floundering at the boat ramp at the bottom of fairfax st. There is a large sand flat on the right hand side we usually do ok there.

Always better when it’s very calm with no chop on top.
I have floundered a lot in the past and have had great success and always take a small landing net with me to put the flatties in after I have speared them. Often it has saved me from losing them as I take the prongs out while it’s in the net. Flounders aren’t as bad and usually easy to spear again even if it falls back in the water

Forgot to mention the same net comes in handy when there are gars around as well :thumbsup:

Thanks for that what about between the pier and the caravan park any good there

Not sure mate never tried there. But a few years ago before the harbour was built we tried to the right hand side of the pier in front of that kiosk but didn't have any luck. You don't need to go out in water deeper than your knees because even when the water is clear they are hard to see.
