After work I Might head down for a short afternoon session! Who’s joining? Again, I posted last night - the gold/orange jig worked a treat on Friday and they also produced for me this morning! 2.5g models are the go too!
Do you live close by or something? Seems like it's easy for you to get there.
I'd love to try but it's a 1.5hr drive for me, plus missus is waiting for dinner. Lol. I might go on the weekend.

Cheers Bugatti , , , , intrigued by mystery man "Rick" ;-)

Rick was the guy that caught his first squid haha! He said he was there since 11pm the night before and he caught a big sized squid for his second catch! Real proud of him I can only assume he’ll be back soon and we’ll cross paths for another session!

Tried to encourage him to register here because he reads the posts

Well done Rick, the first is always a milestone AND an achievement

And thumbs up to you too SoulStar  having a chat and that comradery with fellow fishos is what I love on the Piers & Jetties. And that catching up with "the regualars" is awesome. I have met some top blokes that way.

Now Mr Rick, if you have been reading this Site, then you know, you deserve a Car , , , , we are all Cars :-D

So, arrived at 5am with rod and jig ready to go! Water was murky however, didn’t stop them from biting! Landed the first one in 15min then a second at 5:25am. Went quiet for 30 mins then caught another two by 6am! Only 3 of us on the pier all morning!
Also, congrats to Rick who put in countless hours fishing from 11pm last night to later in the morning catching his first “ever” squid...then his 2nd one was a Monster!

Current was a it strong after 6:30am but water is currently very calm and glassy ;)

I have uploaded a picture of my catch - maybe that will get some posts/responses flowing in!

Signing off.
Well done mate

Hey hey everyone how are we all!! Firstly a big shout out to the man soulstar on helping me catch my first squid, been trying squiding the last 2-3 months with no luck at all but that has now come to an end thankfully,
Went out again tonight but no luck for us while others got a couple here and there!
And yes totally agree how good is it meeting locals and helping each other out!

Hey snook!

So we both made it back home safely it seems! You put a solid effort out their today and you now get to go home with a feed and bait for next time!

Shame we couldn’t get onto any this arvo but to be fair, current was very rough! Still we managed to witness another fisho catch a monster squid on float (which iv never seen happen at st leonards ever! This squid was really large for a pier specimen!

Their will be future sessions with spring now in play!

Well done on your catch and look forward to our next session!

Cheers!

I work in Geelong so it’s a 34 minute drive from town. However to return home I too drive 1.5 hours as I reside in west Melbourne! I guess I’m at an advantage when I have a company car, free petrol and free time on the odd occasion!

Hope to see you down their soonish :)
