Portarlington 23rd

Post by Nude up » Wed Feb 23, 2022 7:59 pm

Went out with my neighbour around 8 fished at grassy point where we picked up a few squid . One squid came off the bottom in 3mt of water and attacked something floating in the water, as I stood up it backed away from the boat I quickly flicked a jig in and bingo I was on.
We then used soft plastics flicking around the mussel farm and had great fun with lots of pinkies 24 to 29cm we only kept the one which went 30cm.

We soft plasticked our way back to point richards Rd boat ramp for only undersize flathead. Passing over the sandbanks we saw loads of banjo's,eagle rays, gar fish and of course toadies did not see 1 flathead.

We decided to give the weed beds a go just near the ramp you can see it in the photo the squid attacked the jigs with gusto we lost 4 just didn't get a good enough grip .
All in all a great day
