Cheers Lightningx!
Great to just get out and have a flick.
Great question there Longbombs!
I only use the size #2.5 these days.
This model #2.5 has a sink rate of 10g, 5.5secs / meter, which I think is perfect balance between rise/fall during action at that 0.5 - 2m depth.
We also have a very slow tidal movement here, so the sideways drift is non-existent.
Chasing the larger winter calamari I reckon that it would be awesome to have a larger profile #3.0, while also still fishing those shallow depths! It's a challenge finding a larger profile, but super shallow weight. The Yamashita #3.0 EGI OH K Super Shallow is a 14.5g, 8.0sec / meter sink rate which hits the brief and is better sideways drift. Will be testing this left colour with the natural cloth and gold foil.
