Another Upper Coliban Res report

Post by TheNix » Sun Aug 25, 2019 11:30 am

I gave the Upper Coliban a go yesterday even though it was blowing a gale. For some reason the wall was closed to fishing (anyone know why?), so I ended up at the Premier mine road end. I ended up with a brown trout about 11", a rainbow trout about 6" and a chunky redfin about 12". I also dropped another brown (about the same size as the one I caught) at the net. Considering that they were probably the only bites I had all afternoon, that's a pretty good strike rate. Tiger worms got the browns, a large scrubby the redfin and maggots the rainbow.

I like your style TheNix, always bring a variety of bait , , , , If the meat doesn't get em , , , , the three Veg does. And a mixed haul too.

But love the Ol' School , , , , inches over millimetres or grams

I'm a bit more , , , , "less accurate" than that :-D

@Bugatti I'm metric in the vast majority of things (hell, I teach maths), but fish are commonly expressed in inches. Also, I never accurately measure fish I intend to let go; I net them, snip the line and let them swim away without touching them if possible.

As if the wall is closed to fishing, it's the only place where I don't get snagged every third cast!
