Re: Bungies Hole - Werribee
Carp outfished squid for bait the one time I used it. It wasn't even that fresh. Didn't catch anything good but the banjos and baby school sharks loved it so I guess gummies would go for it too.adamk wrote:i have a freind who swares by filliting them an soaking them in tuna oil an letting them dry an useing them for gummy bait.

Yeah mate that's the one heaps in there look for the deep wide sections, I haven't fished it since I was about 16 and I'm 33 now but I'm sure it's still full of them because no one has cleaned it up used to catch big tench in there as well.Timi200 wrote:Hey buckles did you mean kororoit creek?

Bloody oath they do, I've been useing it for shark baits for years, my younger cuz in likes catching carp and gives them to me when I need them same with eels, no need to add tuna oil they stink bad, although if you useing it in a area with a lot of flat ground you will get a lot of flat fish they zone in on it straite away..4liters wrote:Carp outfished squid for bait the one time I used it. Re: Bungies Hole - Werribee
I always thought Bungies Hole was the one below the cliffs at the golf club
But thats salt/brackish & a bream area.
Bungies Hole must be somewhere behind Chirnside Park (I'll Google it).
Cheers

PS... found it

Re: Bungies Hole - Werribee
Also-- Werribee has a weir in the Historical Park off Heaths Road.
Used to irrigate Werribee South.
The river upstream of the weir has been stocked in the recent past.
"Should be able to catch"--trout, redfin, estuary perch & carp.
Cheers

I'd imagine so, but what fish could say no to a big juicy scrubby?Lightningx wrote:Any kind of worms are ok to use mate?BIG GAV wrote:Yeah upstream of dights falls perhaps Yarra bend park.. Herring island is good for bream n apparently a hotspot for yarramundiLightningx wrote:I'm about 10 minutes out from he CBD in the South East suburbs herring island is just a short drive from my place so the Yarra near my area would be worth a crack?BIG GAV wrote:Locally to where? Most creeks n rivers and lakes have plenty available.Lightningx wrote: I haven't caught a carp for years! The last one was in the main river which runs through Adelaide as a teenager. I remember catching plenty. It's been that long I can't even remember what bait I used to use lol do you know anywhere locally I could catch one mate?
Corn is most popular but I tend to use worms in rivers as it's a more natural food source especially after rain
If I'm not fishing, I'd rather be fishing!
