Hi guys I've never been trout fishing before. So ive planned a trip this weekend up at wartook.
I want to know how do u guys tie your lures on. Eg snap swivel so you can change the colour or size of the lure and does that make the lure swim differently?
Or are people just go straight to the lure with the leader?

Re: Trout fishing
I run a rod length of leader and just tie straight too. I like to redo the knot.
Never fished it. But a quick bit of research I'd attack it the same way I would attack other western lakes. Apparently some good sized reddies and trout there. I'd suggest the following.
Rod length of 8-12lb leader. 12 if its weedy. 8 if it's clear. 10 is a good starting base.
4 inch paddle tails plastics on 1/4oz jig heads for casting weight.
Heavier large hardbodies like daiwa td95 and td120.
Gold Nories wasaby spoons in 12gms.
Hell one western lake I fished I picked up a couple of 40gm gold halco slugs and was going to attempt it with my salmon surf spinning outfit as distance is king. Never got around to it though.
