Trout Season Opening Bright + Goulburn 9th & 10th (latest post)
Headed up to Bright for the opening of Trout season, stayed on a farm with a small Creek running through their property.
Had big plans to fish the Ovens and it's tribuataries, however thought i would give the creek on the property a go first. Had about a 400m length of creek to fish. My first run i decided to chuck on a small spinnerbait, had 1 follow for the entire run.
With a couple of hours of daylight left i decided to go back to basics with unweighted worms. It proved to be a good call.
Landed 8 trout and dropped a few as well. All were good size rainbows 30+ including a nice 42cm model. Great fun on light gear trying to navigate them around the snags, kept the biggest one for dinner that night.
Over the next couple of days i fished exclusively on the property i was staying. Would have landed 25+ trout. One of the best trout fishing weekends i've had without a doubt.
Interesting that all bar 1 of the trout i caught were Rainbows (all of a similar size) no doubt i would have caught the same fish multiple times, with the only brown i caught being the smallest fish.
A couple of pics below.

It does I booked it through their website.purple5ive wrote:wow thats awsome, well done mate. got to be happy with that

Was perfect, had plenty of animals to keep the better half occupied so i could concentrate on fishing.
Would be a great place to take your family including kids the accommodation is nice and modern as well.
They also have a big dam for yabbies and stocked with redfin & cod.
I will definitely be heading back there.
Pm me if you would like the details.

Nice work mate, water in the creek looks pretty clear considering the time of the year. Thanks for the report
