Night Carp Fishing
Hi guys,
Does anyone know any good Carp fishing baits to use at night?
I use bread under a float during the day but I am not sure what to use at night.
Im gonna be pulling a fair few out of Gardiners Creek these holidays
Cheers
Dan

Try tinned corn. I got a 62cm carp the other night out of Eppalock. It's cheap and you can scatter some like a berly.
Also makes a handy snack

When CC finishes hybernating, he'll help you out
He's the Gardiners creek guru.
I myself would use corn (as murlz said) & maybe a red bead on the line.
btw anybody seen TNA lately, have they finished the upgrade ????
Cheers Gra

Yep, I'm also interested in this question.Texas wrote: btw anybody seen TNA lately, have they finished the upgrade ????
I'm still in hybernation mode. Carp are pretty simple to catch, bread and corn are my 'go to' baits, with bread being the preferred option in urban waterways. GC can be a challenging waterway to fish - like anywhere, it can be very hit and miss. One day you might get half a dozen from a certain spot and the next day nothing. But they are in there!

I fish at night a bit at Eildon and have had no trouble catching carp at on pretty much anything. I have used the normal bread, corn, worms and yabbies which deliver fish but also found cheese to be a real winner, the bigger the cube the bigger the carp normally.
Also baits like chicken, meat (left over bbq) anything i have put down i have caught carp on i don't think they are fussy.

Re: Night Carp Fishing
Worms I'd suggest for some extra movement detection for the carp - but if you can't get any for free the question would be if you think Carp are worth spending the money on

Re: Night Carp Fishing
OK, needless to say, my curiosity was well and truly piqued at the mention of TNA, so I couldn't help but head out there and have a bit of a look-see. Of course I packed my rod 'just in case', but it was no use - not even a bite in the bottom pond (which was recently dry) in over an hour. I think it's fair to say that the halcyon era of TNA of Carp by the dozens is over
TNA is virtually unrecognisable from when I was last there. They have turned the top pond into a 'stormwater treatment plant' only a few inches deep and the bottom pond as been half drained while they are planting new vegetation along the banks.
I wonder what ever did happen to the Colonel...
