Well it all fell through - no fishing done.
WurdeeBuloc was soooo low and the area where the public are allowed in was so shallow and flat with a strong south west wind blowing right in your face - the water was barely coming up to the bottom of the rocks on that side, so I gave it a miss. The odd thing was there's signs saying you're not allowed to walk on the rocks to fish, but you couldn't reach the water unless you walked on the rocks. (???) There was a sort of jetty further around, but it was in the no public access area, with guys working around there, so that was out of the question as well unfortunately.
The rivers were all flooded and flowing really high so they weren't really worth trying.
Anyway - next time I'll try to get more info about the place and how the water levels are.
Oh - and I didn't get time to drop into Trelly's tackle either - they probably would have known and given me other options. I looked at the Lorne pier but I really didn't have suitable tackle - only had the trout/bream gear.
Anyway - thanks for all the replies - much appreciated.
Cheers
Neil
