fishermans beach flathead?

Anyone know about catching flathead off of fishermans beach in torquay have heard of peoplecatching them there but have no idea where to start

Try start at fishermen beach in Torquay. :dontknow

There are a couple of things you can do.

Watch the people who fish from the beach, watch what they are doing, if you are lucky one of them may even give you advice.

Go and talk to your local tackle store, but leave your wallet at home. :thumbsup:

i fished there recently all i caught was a small tommy rough
its best fished at low tide because of the large sand bar
i got yakking to a local he suggest pumping for bass yabbies near the boat ramp said really good for big mullet he also said he catches whiting there

Yeah, I stayed in torquay recently, was a bit hard at high tide as it was only a foot deep with in casting distance haha

flatties are best caught from a boat in 15mtrs of water, more productive with larger specimens of 1.8 to 2kg are caught between Jan Juc and bells beach, cheers. :water:

Fishos beach is good for big whiting and the occasional gummy. You won't bag out but will make it up with quality.
