I haven't fished lorne but all piers are bad at the moment due to everyone having holidays.

Haven't been down there in a while but if I was heading down there I would be taking a surf spin rod and a bunch of slugs to try to get some salmon, the pier will be packed! just find water thats clear is your best bet, keep away from the dirty water you will be wasting your time.
Good luck!

which beach are you talking about? is it the one
that the pier is at or a bit further up?

I could suggest the beach as you go through Pt lonsdale and up the other side past the river park on the left as soon as you see the first beach access. Apart from that just try to avoid the crowds!

Piers are a waste of time at holiday time

tangled crossed lines

shoulder to shoulder

tourists asking "have you caught anything" every 5 minutes

sight see er's tripping over your rods !

Personally I target the beaches every holiday season till the noob brigade are back at work...

Lorne is no different than all the other piers at this time...

Hit the beaches dude..
He who has the most fishing rods WINS ! :ts:

There should be plenty of space to fish along the Erskine River, good place to target bream and mullet.
