Lorne Pier 16/8
Drove down to Lorne on Sunday and spent a couple of hours fishing off the pier.
Started off doing a bit of bait fishing with Mum but after getting two grass whiting in two casts decided that I'd go for salmon on plastics instead.
Tied on a 1/8 jighead with a Keitech 3" easy shiner and dropped 3 fish in quick succession. On the 4th cast, I finally managed to keep one on.
Thought it was a salmon at first but upon closer inspection it looks more like a tommy rough.
For the next few hours it was on and off, whenever I located the schools of fish I'd get a few fish but they were moving around a fair bit.
Ended up landing probably 15-20 myself (and dropped just as many) while Mum caught grass whiting and wrasse on bait.
Just before we left I tied a plastic on for Mum and she managed to land a little tommy, her first fish on a lure :a_goodjob:
All in all a fun session, despite the fact that there didn't seem to be any big salmon around.

Thanks everyone
Poodoo, I didn't see the seal anywhere but I wasn't paying much attention to the end of the pier where it usually hangs around - I was just walking up and down casting off the side of the pier. From what I saw the people up the end were hauling in a fair few crabs in dropnets, which might indicate that the seal wasn't around?
