Obliterated at the Barwon River

Post by LINwAd » Thu May 24, 2018 5:19 pm

Well I did a trip to the Barwon river, had never been there before so it was a bit of a scouting mission. I was there with the kids who were mucking around on trees and with crabs while I flicked plastics while walking the edges. Managed a few little salmon before I saw baitfish being harrassed by something... Casted in....zzzzzzzzzzz. something big had taken the lure. Let me know what you think it was?

Great area down there and I plan on going back with some bigger gear for something decent in the future. It was a great day.

Was using my 1-3kg Shimano Catana, sienna 2500 reel, munroes soft plastic 2.5inch grub in Caviar colour. So a bit light for that fish haha.

Yeah great action, the grub is a little different in the design of the tail compared to normal curly tail/grub designs.

This is the one I was using on that day https://www.munroessoftplastics.com.au/ ... s/2-5-grub

I’ve seen someone get busted off down there on a big fish (had head shakes so not a ray) before too. I’m looking forward to watching a video of you landing a mulloway there in the future
