Gotta love a Vicco Winter
Gotta love a Vicco Winter
Weekend itinery - watched my son play footy Saturday morning, bit of garden maintenance and then a late arvo surf at an obscure little Torquay break just 5 minutes from home, home made pizza, Sunday morning another surf, yep, not joking, after that finished the gardening off, bit of housework to keep the missus happy, then (and the reason for this post), went fishing! Headed over to one of the nearby surf beaches with impending high tide and started chucking a lure round. Initially slow, bumped into another local for a bit of a chat, then wandered down the beach a bit. Few more casts and suddenly they're here! 5 nice salmon in half an hour, all released, then they just switched off again. I will take catching a hard fighting fish on lure over any other technique any day of the week. Fish up to just under a kilo. One other lure caster did just as well. Couple of bait fishos got donuts while I was there.

Well done on braving the surf, the waters freezing at the moment...thanks for putting the lure in the photo as well.
