Ocean Grove Jetty.

Post by Cuda » Sun Apr 14, 2013 12:36 pm

Hi guys,
Does anyone fish from the Oceangrove side of the river, on the Jetty there. Is it too narrow there, considering the river is not vcery wide in that location, and there would be quite a few boats going past. How close to the Jetty do they pass and is it impossible to fish the middle part oif the river there? How deep is it there? Are there lights on that Jetty?
Was just checking it out on GE and thought it might be as good spot to get some livies and try for Jewies. If you know of any caught there, don't be shy to report ;) .
Cheers

The Barwon river is fast following & shallow , so dont always cast in the centre , try find the deep channels .

There's better locations for mulloway in that river if you don't mind walking little bit. Park your car end of river parade and take the walk way until you pass the second set stairs another 200-300 meters. Few fish hang around there and it's easier to land a fish.

Thanks guys.
Enver, I think I might have tried up there once or twice and that walk was very muddy, as well as the bank. Is the spot you're talking about muddy or sandy bank?
IS it easy to catch bait there?

Thanks again.

If you take the footpath you'll miss all the muddy part, where I fish is sandy. Easy to walk on and very easy to land a decent fish without net or gaff.
