Lorne pier 25/06/13

Post by Beetles » Wed Jun 26, 2013 11:11 pm

Took the girlfriend out to the great ocean road to see Erskine River Track, Allenvale Mill to Phantom Falls and Teddy’s Lookout. Then went to have a flick at Lorne pier afterwards. Had a whiting on a squid spike, pilchard and blue bait on hooks that weren't touched for the whole 3 hours we were there. 15min in while i was still setting up all the rods the girlfriend hooked up the massive salmon on a metal slug, we decided to leave the net in car cause we weren't expecting anything big.. so i ended up sprinting to the car to grab the drop net and luckily the salmon didn't swim under the pier and was just jumped out the of the water for the whole time. :super: now the girlfriend has officially caught a bigger fish than me. The rest was caught on metal slugs and hard plastics. I also love the rod holders built in with the pier.

Very nice beetles! Your not the only one that has been outdone by the misses mate, trust me. Overall I say a good TEAM effort. No net = no fish. Lol
I'm heading to Apollo bay tmr. So your report will make me sleep easy tonight. I was down at Philip island today and tried surf spin and rhyll pier and came home with doughnuts.
