Saturday Arvo at Barwon

Post by kev_b » Sun Apr 06, 2014 10:23 am

Well my Mate & I had an afternoon with the wives & Kids going out together, so I suggested we went for a fish. It is only the second Paul has been fishing here.
So I thought that we should try the Barwon river mouth, just upstream of the bridge.

Well we set our rods up & Paul's first cast within 3 minutes he was on to a small salmon. that was the first of around 15 fish between us.. One KGW around 29cm all the rest were salmon around the 20cm mark.

At one point it was a fish a cast, A great experience for his first trip out landbased.

We were there between 3:30 to 7pm, catching high tide.

A great afternoon out.

Sounds like a nice way to spend a few hours.
If only the salmon were that little bit bigger you could have had a stack of bait for a future session.
