Been back into it now for a few months…was very happy to break the undersize pinky habit that I had formed…
Location may be obvious to some of you, but with the right wind/weather and a moon based on my old journal/experience, well, I can't explain how happy I was.
Being a home brewer I made a fantastic saison beer batter also (with some home grown herbs and spices in it)…feels great.
Lost several of the couta and salmon fillets to big baits (which were ignored, sadly).
Good day.

Re: Good day.
Banjos: Terrible. Throw them all back. Let them breed. Let me catch them. :Bar:
In all seriousness, a bit of effort to dress them, and you really only want larger models (pushing 1m total length), but they are sweet and quite delicate if looked after. Sawshark is also good. Although we often think of them as being nuisances, especially in the bay, they are still a reasonably slow growing critter so I try not to keep too many smaller ones.
Having said all this, I have a particular kind of ethic when fishing - I don't release or 'sport fish' any more, and I keep a feed wherever possible (and stop at that point). Each to their own. :victory:
