Anytime from Weds night to Friday night should be very fishable from what i can see so far. The friday night hightide being the pick of the lot if the wind and swell hold.

Does a strong off shore wind influence the swell much? Just wondering whether the wind would cause the waves to break less and waters be more calmer

Not really. The swell is generated way, way offshore, and travels a long way to get here. The local winds affect the chop on top of the swell, offshore wind means a smoother finish to the waves, onshore wind, choppy and pretty crap tbh.

Not really. The swell is generated way, way offsbut guys choppy overcast hore, and travels a long way to get here. The local winds affect the chop on top of the swell, offshore wind means a smoother finish to the waves, onshore wind, choppy and pretty crap tbh.
But guys choppy overcast wind ans sea is good for land based fishing in the bay also it gets the pinkies close to shore and works for most speicies

This thread is bugger all to do with the bay. It was to do with salmon at gunners. And George asked if the offshore wind affected the swell, not the fishing.
An ONSHORE wind will stir things up, and most certainly, snapper anglers prefer this type of condition. But as regards spinning for salmon, it is most certainly NOT a favourable wind direction.
