Gunners is a fairly substantial beach mate, I think there will be room..surf spinning for sambos is best with three or four blokes anyway..

I'm most certainly going to head down there and give it a shot I'll only be soaking bait and was wondering if any one else is planning to soak bait, as I will be my first time fishing the surf it would be great to catch up and get some pointers. I'm looking at Friday morning aiming to be there by 0400-0430.

I just Bought a catana/solstace 902 or 901 combo, I guess I'm Going.

I have no idea What im supposed to be doing, where im supposed to be casting and where im supposed to go to, Anyone care to fill me in?

Aim at the water, cast as far as you can.

Aim at the water, cast as far as you can.

Cast lure in the general direction of the horizon.

Reel it in.

Check to see if there's a fish on the end.

If no, repeat.

If yes, laugh at dougie who has no fish, either kill it or release it, then repeat.

If no fish for 10+ casts walk 20m along and try again.

Do this until you get bored or sick of me swearing my head off whenever one throws a hook 2m from my feet.

was testing the rod and reel out at frankston today with my salmon slugs and couldnt cast for **** lol, 20knot winds at my back and couldnt get as far as i did with my whiting rods lol.

no idea why but i love the rod to bits, might buy another in a 3-6kg, dont have one of them yet.
