Thinking of going to Gunnamatta on the weekend, just wondering if this weeks easterly are going to make weed a problem

At Gunnas I would expect an easterly to be almost straight offshore creating smooth surface conditions between the swell lines. It would likely be ideal for keeping weed away with south west winds more likely to push weed towards the coast line.

If you fish during an easterly be aware that surfers could be out in numbers and being surfers from the peninsula and the city there would be some entertainment with aggressive behaviour being common. They also make fantastic targets to practice your casting.

All the best.

Thanks mate, I will be fishing the northerly on Saturday or Sunday just wanted to make sure the easterlies on Thursday and Friday weren't going to cause a weed problem.

I have hooked a surfer before Down at Gunnamatta a few years he wasn't to happy but got over it pretty quickly

As mentuoned, Gunners will be fine after the easterlies. Nor Easter being perfect wind condition down there.
