Gunnamatta - Busier than Bourke Street

Folks,
I'm a bit late in sharing but I thought I would anyway....
Earlier in the week I had planned to do a run down to Gunnamatta on Sunday morning after dropping the missus off at work early.
Whilst I knew that the tide wasn't going to be perfect, the weather conditions were looking to be very comfortable.
Now I am rather a novice at fishing at Gunna's and imagine my surprise when I topped the sand dunes....it looks like half of Melbourne had the same idea. I had to walk 15 minutes to find myself a decent piece of water where I could wedge myself in between two other folk.
Despite my early start, the favorable conditions, and my enthusiasm I went home empty handed after 3-4 hours of drowning the pilchards. Certainly there could have been worse ways to spend a Sunday morning.
