Lb report

Post by MattypVic » Thu Nov 28, 2013 1:17 pm

Hey guys, decided to go for a fish with a mate last night.
got to the location at about 6:30 started off with a couple of kgw and a small flathead released the flatty (about 30cm) and decided to keep the whiting for bait.

As the sun went down chucked out the surf rods one with a running sinker 7/0 hook and the other with a snapper snatcher with 4/0 hooks, with not much happening we were just about to pack up when bang one of my rods bent over and line peeling from my reel after a little fight and some thrashing about in the shallows managed to this gummy in and will be dinner tonight.

Should add it took the snapper snatcher rig which had squid on one hook and a peice of kgw on the other it took the whiting.

Whatever isnt used goes in the freezer for next time so put one and a bit in there when I got home. Im not to fussed on whiting to be honest to many little bones, so I dont see it any different to catching a few salmon and using them for bait

Great stuff Matty. Well done. Whiting, especially fresh whiting, makes awsome bait for quite a few species of fish. :a_goodjob: Especially gumbos.
To fish or not to fish...NOT TO FISH ??Yea...like that's even an option !
