Paggenport 11/10/14
Hey everyone,
Went out for an arvo/evening venture into Westernport with my friends Andrew and Steve on Saturday...
First stop was some bait collection at the baitshop, and within 30min, we had 2 good Salmon and 4 Yakkas in the boat which was a great start.
We headed over to Tankerton and back to Stony to try for some Squid. Unfortunately, we didn't get any but that didn't matter because I brought some freshly caught frozen stuff as backup  .
About 5pm, we started making our way toward the chocolate coloured water (Corinella) .
I had a sound around for a while, marked some good fish, and anchored for the last 2 hours of the Ebb, following that we fished the first 3 hours of the flood and landed quite a few fish in the meantime. Was a top little session!!
RANT: After we got tight with one of the Snapper in the photo 2 boats around 2-300m away saw the fight/fish and proceeded to pull anchor and sit just behind me. If they got a good fish on they would most likely lose it around my anchor rope and I might possibly lose my anchor too
Mick

beautiful fish man, must have been a good day out,,
can you explain to me how the guy sitting behind you would have got their fish stuck on your anchor if they hooked up, a bit confused.
cheers

Steve- Once I released that fish he moved about 100m up current of me. I had about 50m of anchor rope out. He would've been near casting his baits on my anchor. Imagine if he hooked an Eagle Ray using braid, if the braid wrapped around my anchor rope, anchor gone!!

Re: Paggenport 11/10/14
ahh makes sense if they actually moved in front of your boat, all good.. not the best when that happens, but that's fishing, when your catching fish and they aren't they all come near you, same story in the piers lol
cheers

Nice fish seems to be plenty around westernport at the moment. Gives me the shi@@s when people anchor really close because they see you catch a fish .

don't they forget fish actually swim so seeing you catch fish and moving to your boat could be negative as those fish you were onto could be moving their way
