Western Port Top End Report 11 - 13th.
Hello everyone,
Thought id share a report from last Saturday the 11th - Monday the 13th. I'm very new to Western Port, only been fishing it for almost the last 2 months. Had an absolute ball and glad i'm on the right track after many hours on the water learning new things every trip and applying them the next. I managed to break my Whiting, Snapper & Gummy PB in the three days i was out, and also catching lots and lots of Squid all ranging 32-36cm hoods. Each morning started off on Quail bank drifting until i found the magic patch. Then id motor off in search of a Red and the fresh bait did wonders. Really enjoying being out there at the moment and can't wait for this weekend..
Here are some photos of them all, cheers!
47cm & 45cm King Georgys caught on fresh squid in the slack water on a snapper mark, These were the biggest i caught! 47 is my new PB and was in the 600-650g mark. also caught 3 others all over 40cm on the weekend. 70cm 4kg Snapper caught on fresh squid rings, which i was really stoked with, also a new PB for me! Great feeling upsizing a fish. Plenty of little pan pinkies around and also managed to catch a 2kg and 2.5kg fish in this session too and dropped one that was bigger than this one.. Really want to hit that 6kg mark though. And heres my new PB Gummy caught on the head of a fresh cowenyoung, not huge obviously but at least a decent enough size :D.
