The expensive brais from daiwa are all very smooth from what I've heard. You guys have just confirmed this too. Time to get some of their braid too.

Picked up 10ft Abu Garcia combo for some landbase on the bellarine peninsula this Saturday.they had nano for 99$ nearly got one.

The daiwa tournament braid is very smooth as well (wind knots are easy to get out lol), but I have found it frays over time and weakens significantly. I guess it depends on expectation of usage, but probably one of the smoothest braids I have used.

That's the exact same one I have. They are good rods I think. Let's hope you can christen it with somerhing decent. My first outing I landed 5.
