When I've purchase a rod it's always come in 4'' PVC tube & never had a problem.. That's not good to see that damage to your new rod, yes get in touch with them straight away & also send them a pic too, they should also pay the return freight. Hope you get it sorted out very soon..

that's thing Adrian, this was in a tube. Only the tube wasn't wide enough to fit the stripper guide so they cut a hole in the side to fit, and then taped over with cardboard. genius. I've emailed them, just waiting for a reply on monday. their policy allows for return shipping to be paid so i'm not going to be out of pocket.
