Went to Aldi for a look see and spotted this Vacuum sealer for $60 and thought why not. Does anyone know if they make one that runs off 12volts ie cigarette socket, car or boat battery or is that a stupid question??? It would be ideal as most of the time you are not near a power point when fishing.

Had some birthday cash and gift cards for BCF to splash around, so I've made shameless use of the Easter Sale and the 20% off this weekend.

I've been wanting a baitcaster and a cod rod for a while, and got the daiwa laguna 6-12kg. Also some fireline exceed 30lb braid for it (but I spooled it with 30lb Aldi braid until I'm used to casting it, so I don't waste the good stuff with birdsnests). Then, a couple of Taylor Made codwallopers, some stumpjumpers, a bassman spinnerbait (to go with all the cheapo spinnerbaits I already have), a sebell flatt shad (only because it was on special) a Savage 3D frog, some lip grips, a freshwater rod holder, some soft plastics, a surface cicada and surface popper and a daiwa sweepfire 4000 reel to replace my 25 year old shakespeare reel. Now to actually fish with it all!

Big boy daiwa BG6500. This is the biggest reel i have ever owned 15kg of drag and 500m.of 50lb jbraid on it.
Took it out on the tuna but never got a run. Maybe next time.
You can see the smaller 4000 in the background.
