No, not at all.. just stumbled onto them yesterday.. they're similar colour to the Daiwa ghost brown lures I use at the moment & the bib looks much stronger too.. I'm sure they'll bag a trout or two as well.. ;-)

I got home from cod fishing this morning and there was a very long parcel on my doorstep - a new rod to add to my collection:

Late last year I purchased a heavy duty Veritas baitcaster rod specifically for targetting cod on surface lures. I had bought a Cod Raider which arrived with a broken tip - emphasising my opinion that it is too light for the type of fishing I do. I have been absolutely delighted with the Veritas, it is tough, casts accurately and buts up with the abuse it gets in the hard to access spots. The only negative is that I get a sore arm casting very heavy lures - which is not the rod's fault.

I plan to do a lot more surface fishing in the Goulburn Weir and need a rod that will hurl big lures a long way out. The solution was the Veritas 7'9" swimbait rod - which just fits into my truck. And I scored it for under $100. :a_goodjob:

So now I've got two cod surface rods, V1 and V2. I can see I am going to have a practice cast with V2 on the weir this weekend! :-D

Best Wishes

Nice, i was just going to suggest you look into swimbait rods, but looks lie you scored a bargain on them already.

i myself have a veritas jigging rod rated to PE4 (40lb) and it looks like a broomstick. so i can attest to the whole too light for the type of fishing scenario.
