Redfin at karkarook

Post by wem21 » Thu Jan 04, 2018 6:48 pm

Hello all,
I was just wondering if it was possible to catch Redfin with soft plastics in lake karkarook and if so, where would I be casting in order to hook one?
Cheers

Haven't fished here for a few years but have caught reddies and rainbows on wriggler type sp's.

All caught along the red line shown below

As someone else has mentioned between the bridge and the small pier is also a popular spot, seen plenty of trout pulled there on powerbait

when you say wriggler do you mean the curly tail grubs? also, what retrieve did you use?

I've had the most success along the south bank. overcast and dusk.

Yeah mate, squidgy wrigglers, zman grubs, anything like that.

Generally just hop hop retrieve with really long pauses. Vary it up till you find something that works, there’s no set in stone way.

I’m by no means an expert, just a bit of insight for you though
