Obviously the fishing there is crap and not worth worrying about. Oh and I/m not an old greeny either.

I'm going to wait till after summer and all the tourists have left and the hype of it being open has died down.
I took the young bloke for a look the weekend it opened and we only saw 1 person with a fish and that was a redfin, however it was taken from a non fishing area.

i went there on Saturday 22nd December at about 6:00pm. there was a strip of weed 5 meters wide and 20 meters from the shore stretching for the whole area that you can legally fish (the area near the jetty) at the northern tip of the jetty the weed was 30 centimeters from it. you couldnt even cast anywhere except back towards the shore into 3 foot deep water.... the weed was growing from the bottom of the reservoir so i doubt they will float away. :yucky:

can you swim in there and/or kayak and fish from it (in the legal areas, just slightly in deeper waters?)

Whats with the spike strips?!?!?! are they planning to put a toll there or something?

Last post before Christmas, looks like fishing hasn't fired here like we all thought it might. Bit of a shame really.

Spinners I used but hard to use with so much weed around rapalas probly best to use if its not to windy of a day.. (every time iv been its really windy)
Haha, jim don't think thers cod in ther? I think theres a good chance there is still. Been told by 3 different people they fished there within the last 10 years especially for cod. And knowing myself there's massive cod in other catchments I don't doubt it at all. Iv been told by tackle shop guy set up 10 springers tied around tree using bike tube and 60 pound line gone back and only 4 where left (not at devilbend)
