Rowville / Lilydale lakes

Post by ChrisD » Mon Feb 18, 2013 10:54 am

Has anyone been having any joy at either Rowville or Lilydale lakes of late?
Been a while since I fished either, wondering if it is worth planning a trip.

I've fished both and caught nothing. Rowville you probably want to hit within a month of it being stocked. It's too hot in there for trout (it's shallow) and the redfin dont' seem to like my lures.

Lilydale i haven't actually heard of anyone catching anything in since they drained it but i've only been there a couple of times. Someone else with more experience should be able to offer better advice but from what i understand dam wall for spinners and any of the drains up the other end for baits.

I had a look at the stream underneath it as well but it was getting dark and i haven't had a crack in there yet.

Thanks Dougie. I tried the stream below the out flow at Lilydale once. All it resulted in was lost lures and no bites.
