Carp in Lilydale lake?????

Post by ChrisD » Thu Apr 04, 2013 11:25 am

Has anyone fished Lilydale lake for Carp in recent weeks?
I have had so many zero catch sessions of late I am getting desperate to catch a fish, even carp. The Yarra has been producing zero of late so i thought I might hit Lilydale and see if it was any better.

dunno about lilydale lake, think alot of the carp went after they drained it... probably still some in Ringwood lake or Rowville lakes, been fishing @ rowville lakes a couple of times of late, pretty sure it was small carp or redfin i saw jumping out of the water, not trout.

Only ever tried Ringwood once, waste of time, not sure anything, even carp, could live in that lake.
Waiting till later in the year before heading back to Rowville.

Had a couple of good bites at Lilydale without hooking up, just before Easter. Carp? Eels, redfin?. I also refuse to believe all the trout have been fished out of this lake - too many inaccessible corners

30-50cm small creek, can jump it if ya good.
The lake closer to the park has larger models but access is only at one spot and your better off then parking at Hughes park round the back.
