what sort of rig do you use to catch them?
For Carp, If in still water such as a lake , a thin pencil float with hook around 1m under the water , and a few small splitshot sinkers around 1ft above the hook works well ( like a garfish pier setup ). In running water / rivers , usualy a running sinker setup works well ( like a bream setup ), although you can use a running sinker setup in a still lake too no worries.
Cheers , Rick
alot of specialist carp fisherman in europe (coarse fishing Angling) use a running sinker type rig for lakes.. also called a hair rig where u thread the bait from a needle onto a small loop of line/braid on the bottom of the hook. Can use baits like Boilies,Corn, small cubes of cheese or spam

The lake it's self is an utter poo hole.
I really only fish the creek.
Couple hundred meters down the water treatment plant (I think that's what it is) dumps heaps of clear water in and would assume there could be some good fishing down from there.
I've noticed alot more people fishing here as i drive home from work. I also noticed ALOT more rubbish there  .. I never used to see any rubbish but now you can even see it from the road just driving past. Pretty dissapointing smh.. I just hope its not anyone from Fishing Vic thats seen this tread and decided to have a crack at this creek and littered everywhere.. anyways, end rant lol

The lake closer to the park has larger models but access is only at one spot and your better off then parking at Hughes park round the back.
hey mate wanna give the creek a crack... what are the method's effective and what kinda fish hold in there?

Only ever targeted carp there but would imagine there are eels and reddies.
I just fish bread under a float for them.

So you just drifting bait downstream or do you have it fixed in one spot, any weight?

Think they're would be any brown's or rainbows in there? I live like 5 minutes away from it so i'll give it a whirl with a few lures/some bread and corn.

No weight just let it slowly drift down.
If there are any trout in there, they will be not in great health.

Gday drifta,

headed down to the creek today at the end of Karingal st, drifted some bread under a float, tossed around a hardbody or two.. and wacked on a SP and unfortunately not even a single bite. Focused in on the area around where the water was being flushed into the creek from the water treatment plant.. was really a very funky color, seeing clean water go into a murky creek.

Anyway mate.. just wondering if it's a bit hit and miss there or not.. probably head back up for another session.

Also how far up the creek do you like to fish, or do you target the incoming water aswell?

Normally b4 where the clean stuff enters.
Like all fishing it a bit hit and miss,
Probably 50% success rate there doing 1hr sessions.

what have you pulled out of there, solely carp? wondering if i should be throwing lures around or just drifting bread under a float mate. what do you aim out when drifting it, the sides of banks or do you just go straight down the middle?
