it can't be a sand bass. the caudal fin and rear dorsal fin are different. they do however match up with a barramundi

It's a barra. No doubt about it. They'd do ok in there over the warmer months, but the cold knocks them over stone cold dead.

Should be a few in the Hazelwood pondage that would have kicked on. Dunno if anyone has but.

Planned to hit Rowville at some stage over the school holidays, but I won't hold my breath for any Barra.

lol yeah pretty sure those barra were dead ones dumped lol... but DPI told me the lakes will be stocked very early this week so probably tomorrow...

Hey all
I went there late this afternoon to give it a short go, sun was going down but spent about 30+ mins getting used to a new fly rod i picked up today. It was a nice afternoon but for me it was more testing then anything else, didn't see anyone with any fish but there was a good number of people there. I didn't fish the big lake just the smaller one so i had more room around me.
May give it another shot after work but i'll see what happens tomorrow.

just a note to those that dont know they only stock the big lake and the small lake at the back (Sutton lake and Hill lake) the front lake (cogley lake) doesnt get stocked with any trout...however there is redfin and carp there.
