Marysville Lake

Post by Paulv123 » Sun Oct 27, 2013 8:23 am

Hi All,

Decided late yesterday to go for a fish with my young boy, We ended up at Marysville around 3:30 and thought we would try out the lake.

After about an hour he had caught 4 and I'd only hooked 1 and lost 2 (all very small fish), using small pink tassie Devils. Plenty of trout were on the rise, so could be a good spot to try out fly fishing.

We continued our journey to Eildon Pondage. We caught nothing but saw people catching good sized trout using dough baits.

Turned a boring old day into a great day out, We might even try somewhere else today.

Cheers

I tried the lake last weekend after a failed attempt in the Taggerty River. I lost five small rainbows before landing a small brown from the river near the lake. When I arrived there last week there was a fly fisherman who was leaving. He had no luck despite the fact that the trout were actively feeding on the surface. I thought it was strange as I did not expect to get much action on the lures when the trout were feeding on the surface.
cheers
