So after driving 7hours with three kids in the car I'm standing on sand along Fishpen Road Merimbula and I've got my sqiudgy wriggler bloodworm ready to rock n roll  . I attempt my first cast and snap my beautiful 2pc wicked weasel snaps at the join and falls at my feet Bangg .
Now I'm guessing the rod is stuffed and can't be repaired but I'm wondering if this is a common breaking point in graphite rods. The rod was well treated and not misused

yeesh! that's no good man. Rods generally seem to break at the tip from what i've read. you may have had a faulty blank if its breaking that far down. I'd call the place that sold me the rod

is it broken at the ferrule or further up.
that can be repaired I think, they will just put a new ferrule in, obviously will be a bit shorter, but better than breaking at the tip where the action will be affected more

It's broken right where you join the 2pc to make the rod one. Both pieces look like they here been shredded.

Take it back where you got it. Daiwa should replace it. If it breaks at the join, I would say it's a defective rod.
I have 3 gen blacks and never had any issues.

Yeah take it back to where you got it, don't worry about fixing it. It'll be a warranty job for sure.

It just sucks you're away without a rod now!!

The rod is about 2 years old and Daiwa only have a 1 year warranty according to there website

They should still at least take a look at it, in my experience most reputable companies will honour a replacement/repair even if it is a little out of warranty. Particularly if it is well looked after.

If all else fails buy shimano lol :bite:

You can buy a ferrule and fix it but it will be shorter, or make it a 1 pc with some araldite and rod thread, but graphite can be a real ****** to work with.
