So last visit to my local tackle store I saw the replacement eyelets and tips and thought I’d give it a go.
Replaced the tip - easy as. Can’t go wrong.
Step up a level - replace the 3rd eyelet down from the tip.

I just thought I did well, carefully hand winding all the thread and back winding the ends and using a mono loop to pull the tail back under - very professional I thought, until AFTER I glued it all in place stood back and realised I placed the eyelet backwards HA HA HA AH

Oh well too late now. It is an old rod anyway.
I’m not sure if it makes any strength difference?
But now I smile each time I see it in the garage.

Now to start on the second rod with broken eyelets. See if I can learn from my experiences :rofl:

The eyelet is a 2 foot style, as opposed to the newer style rods that have the eyelets with a leg on one side only. . I have no idea about the proper names.
So on one foot theres 1 brace up to the eyelet, but on the other side of the eyelet there’s 2 braces down to the foot.
Anyway I put the replacement eyelet on with h 2 braces facing forward.

Lol at least you had a crack at it yourself mate!
Hopefully you won’t make the same mistake on the second one

If its not a game rod shouldnt make much difference except bit of a different look amd if it makes you smile each time lolwell thats good.

I seen rods where all guides are unside done come from manufacturers made that way.

Thanks smile, it’s just a 7foot spin style rod the sort used for soft plastics and squid jigs.
So it’s all good.
I’ll do my other rod maybe tomorrow and come better weather I’ll see how they go used in anger catching banjos and rays ha ha ha. That’s my usual bounty in the bay :water:

Haha. That’s great. It’s like electrical plug tops I fitted in me early apprentice days. You’d finish it only to realise you forgot to feed the cover and locking ring on the lead first...
