incredible squiding this evening at Bicheno, Tasmania.

Squid up to 2.5 kg. Sorry haven't figured out how to post images from phone.

Thats some decent sized squid! Were they Calamari or Arrows?

If the wings extend from the rear of the hood, (the pointy end), right to the head, then they're cala. If the wings extend only about half the hood length, they're arrow squid..

They're are calas and good ones.
The squid fishing along the eastern coast of tassie is unreal

lures. Squid jigs white with red head.

Must be great because we have no experience with squid and could have caught all we wanted last night.

Thats a great catch for the first time squiding! They are definitely southern calamari.
