Would you say the fish you hooked on a popper was a king? Shame you lost it, it only takes one fish like that to make the whole trip worth it.

It was a large something. All the knowledge i've acquired would point towards it being a king but without visual confirmation I don't want to make the call. That Saltist i'm casting is PE 6 and it was bending like my 6-10 Tcurve on a 2kg salmon. Already changed all my hooks to singles. Never again.

Nice trip you boys had, you'll get your kingie one day Douglass, rock ledge's are a young mans caper that's for sure.. unless there's a car park near by then I'd take it up again. :thumbsup:

It really is a beautiful place to fish and any time you can spend there doing so with good company is a great time had :thumbsup: very jealous. Great report Doug and hopefully next time you guys can land what your chasing :cheers:

Brilliant fellas! I'm heading up that way to do some fieldwork in a couple of months so I'll have to check out a few of these spots. I might have to dust of the heavy gear and chase a real fish for a change. Cheers for the read Dougie, loved it.
