I was getting king fish on a shimano 4000ax.
So 10000 size reel should be ok. I think it has 14kg max drag so be ok
Most marlin overhead gear is 24kg and has a strike drag of 8kg and some people just up it a bit more.
Only problem i see is that it mite not hold enough braid.
I think it only holds 400 or so mts of braid and a marlin can pull over 100 mts at a time if they big enough

Yeah right, thanks for that
I just don't see 20000 saragosas as practical for my general type of snapper and shark fishing, so I'll just stick to the 10000 and try my luck with big kings, tuna and maybe marlin if I'm lucky lol

10000 will be good if not too big for king fish.
Should be ok for tuna upto about 40 ot 50kg.
Could try with marlin but just need to get extra lines in and chase it with the boat.
The 20000 has a drag of 20kg and extra 300mt of line but not sure if many people can handle a rod with a fish pulling 20kg of drag out.
So difference between two reels is minor when comes down the the functionality of it all.

Anyone familiar with any nice land based spots around Bermi? Heading there in a few weeks.

The best bet for you fellas would be to call into bermi bait and tackle. Buy some bait and get some pointers on where the fish are weather thats from the beach or boat.

Black fish near second cleaning table and small boat ramp.
Flathead and salmon on sand flats
Salmon off headland
Flathead and bream off the banks up the river.
