That was a brilliant report Dougie and thank you for sharing it with us.. great trip mate and yes there's always some great fishing to be had when rock fishing especially the areas you fished.. most of us would have been happy to go home with some of the bait fish you caught & used.. :-D

They change directions incredibly quickly. I was mostly spinning for them with my salmon outfit which was quite good fun. They like the smallest possible metals so a 25g Gillies or a 20g Barret (like a busted but through rigged) were my choices. I got one on an SLXR 14 on the heavy spin outfit which was a biomaster 8 with 40lb tasline, which was still fun but not as challenging.

On a another note.
Is the big b the same as the tubes. Looks very similar.
I went up too the tubes for a look when i was at jb about 4 years ago. Honey moon bay and the rest of the stopovers. Lovely place indeed.
