Are mulloway a fairly common catch everywhere in NSW? Or are they ghosts like in most vic estuaries?
Not everywhere, more so northern nsw.
To be honest i think there is a good amount but not many people target them. I only saw one other group fishing for mulloway in the whole week i was there. But the mulloway "season" hasnt even started yet!
It usually starts around May when the mullet run through. The mulloway are usually bigger aswell. Then the locals fishos will be out

wish they were that easy to catch in vic, especially western port.

Cheers mate, leader was 80 and 100lb with a 10m shock leader of 60lb.
Going by the damage on the line, some of the sharks could of been over 2.5m long

Tell me about it! We could of had a total of about 15 mulloway for around 20 hours of fishing for them!
