Bearii O'nighter
Got on the water pre dawn Sat morning. It was a little breezy but warm as and the water was warm also. Putted a few hundred meters down stream and tied up to our first log.
Bang, 2 minutes in my tinny captain gets bragging rights of 1st fish (and a stubby from my esky), a tiddler Trout cod, but still a fish.
Probably 20 minutes later I was on, about a 40cm trout Cod.
The whole time going through cheese feeding the cheeky bream. They struggle hooking up on a 6/0 hook.
A couple of logs later then my cptn struck again, another small T Cod.
More logs and many more subbies later I was on again. Thought I lost it under a snag, then snagged up on a log. 10 mins later the reel took of. The cheeky bugger was just sitting there. 25 minutes of some good boat piloting and fish wrangling by myself she was in my hands. 54cm T Cod. (Pictured).
Lunch time (with more beers) and time for bull and laughs and set up camp with our other mates who we were camping with.
Out for an arvo fish on my other mates boat and I got a small M cod and two bream by my new Cptn. Half hour later and running on fumes a got a 52cm M cod. (pictured)
Then back for tea (9pm) for tea beers, beers and a few beers. And bull and laughter to the wee hours.
So all up between 4 the count is 6 M cod, 9 T Cod, 10 bream and a dirty carp (caught by my 1st Captn) and one hell of a hangover for all... No keepers, but fun all the same!
p.s. I'm never drinking again :puke:

Re: Bearii O'nighter
Nice effort. Don't even know if I have ever caught a trout cod!!! Not unless I caught one as a teenager and didn't recognise it! I wasn't too educated back then!
thanks

good work, nice report and fish, cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them
