Fishing near Adelaide CBD

Hey all.

Looking like I'll have a few days in Radelaide for work. Based in the CBD. I'm planning on chucking a travel rod in the luggage to kill some time.

The main question is where to fish. CBD looks shite for options and I doubt we'll have a hire car cos we'll just stay in a hotel near the work location. But a short uber trip looks like it will put me into some decent territory.

Patawalonga river
Port Adelaide river
Outer harbour

Anyone got any experience fishing this part of the world?

Target species being anything that pulls drag. But I'll settle for a bream... haha.

Seems a few small Jews can be caught in between species in that area so the basic game plan would be to rig up for them and anything else is a bonus. Aim of the game is to keep me out of the pub...

West Lakes if you can get out there. Few jews kick around the place by all reports

You could try for Yellowfin Whiting of the beach around the Glenelg Jetty area. High tide and pippi's are the go. If they are around you will likely find locals after them.

Glenelg jetty is the most productive of the metro jetties. Adelaide shores marina also holds bream trevally and jew. Gulf St Vincent isn't as good as ppb sadly so keep your expectations in check.

Cheers for the advice gents.

A casual arvo spent flicking Jew plastics would make me happy so that's what I'll hit. I'll aim for west lakes but will depend on how easy it is to get around.

Much appreciated.

It's a pain on PT from the city. The tram goes straight to glenelg and it doubles as a nice tourist spot with the pat there as well. You'll get donuts in west lakes on the Jews unless you have live bait.

North haven breakwater is good for Salmon Trout but without a car you're screwed.
